In another collaboration with Elena Velez, we created a collection of high-fashion pieces that transform worn, bent sheet metal into sculptural, wearable art. The collection takes a deeper dive into showcasing the raw beauty of Rust Belt manufacturing, turning industrial materials into elegant, statue-like designs. By highlighting the imperfections and textures inherent in the metal, we celebrated the craftsmanship and resilience of the region while pushing the boundaries of fashion. Each piece represents a fusion of metal and cloth, capturing the essence of industrial history and translating it into high fashion.

We handcrafted a collection featuring a bag, glasses, earrings, and heels, all made from worn, bent sheet metal. The pieces were meticulously shaped using steel and complemented with leather elements. Drawing inspiration from sheet metal manufacturing, each piece captures the raw beauty of craftsmanship, blending the strength of metal with the elegance of design to create a powerful statement on the runway.

Design

We created a collection that incorporates worn, bent sheet metal, crystal elements, and classic hardware into high-fashion pieces. The design focused on the raw, weathered look of the sheet metal, giving each piece a unique character, while the crystal added an unexpected touch of luxury. The classic hardware was carefully chosen to evoke timeless craftsmanship, and the entire collection was designed with a new thought in mind—if your fashion piece breaks, you can fix it. This approach adds a sense of construction to high fashion and taking care of your art. Being able to fix, disassemble, and modify is the staple of being raised in the midwest.

Concept

We are taking the simple use of sheet metal bending and elevating it to high fashion. Bringing these mundane tasks into the light of precision and beauty twist the very fabric of what is considered "valuable" to the owner. Something that they nurture, or something that is made for mass manufacturing. This collection was made to break these boundaries.
