My name is Sam Christianson.
I come from a past of freedom in creativity. As a kid, I wanted to be an inventor and recreate the new world. My view has not changed much since then and it remains a big part of my design process. Looking into what design has been and what design can be is a staple in anything I am creating. There is a beauty in simple design I admire and respect. These designs inspire my mechanical decisions as an engineer and fuel the inventor in me. While design serves a larger audience than engineering, there is a crossover between both to create effective solutions. My goal is not to create something only beautiful or only functional but to bridge the gap between both disciplines. There is an untapped amount of opportunities in the space between beauty and hardware. I wish to exist and operate within this space.
Fueled with the curiosity of a kid and fire to learn, my toolkit for design is ever-expanding. My excitement often comes from my lack of knowledge and finding a solution that didn't previously exist. For this reason, my abilities never stop growing. I would love to work in an environment that not only challenges me but lets me use my skills effectively. If there is a cutting edge somewhere, I want to be present. I have been made into the multi-disciplinary designer I am today because of my past experiences and I look for a future where I am free to create.
